Appleton Residents and guests at Ridgeview Highlands Independent Senior Living Apartments & Townhomes came together on Saturday, October 1, to enjoy a Polka on the Patio celebration and to raise money to assist WWII Veterans.
Guests of the event enjoyed brats & hot dogs donated by Cedar Creek Meat Market, live musical entertainment by Norm Dombrowski & The Happy Notes, and several raffle prizes including a 2010 signed football donated by the Packers Organization.
The event was a free event which raised $750 from the sale of food, raffle tickets and general donations. Ridgeview Highlands will match this amount and present a check for $1500 to Old Glory Honor Flight of Northeast Wisconsin. An additional $295 was also raised from the sale of Old Glory Honor Flight memorabilia. Monies raised will be used to assist with the transportation costs needed to send WWII veterans to Washington D.C. to reflect at their memorial.
